Pavonis Mons

About this image
Today's VIS image is of the eastern flank of Pavonis Mons where the volcano meets the surrounding volcanic plains. The arced features towards the top of the image are fractures and lava tubes that were revealed by collapse of the roof of the tube into the underlying void.
