About this image

The channels in this VIS image are part of Granicus Valles. Granicus Valles is one of many valley systems that are located on the western margin of the Elysium volcanic complex. It is not known if these valleys were created solely by flow of lava or water. It is likely that both fluids may have been involved in forming the valley systems.
