About this image

The crater interior shown within this THEMIS image was originally filled from crater wall to crater wall by a thick accumulation of material. The fill, now undergoing removal, exposes the crater's floor in the central portion of the crater. The way the crater fill's surface layer is breaking up and eroding, indicates that volatiles, such as ice, may be present within the upper layer.
