Polar Layers in False Color

In false color THEMIS images of high latitudes, ice and frost will typically appear bright blue in color. Dust mantled ice generally appears in tones of red to orange.
This THEMIS image illustrates the orange to blue nature of the false colored polar layers, indicating that within this image, dust and ice are major compositional components.
