Holden Crater
About this image
Ripple bedforms (a type of dune) fill both the large fractures and small channels near the southern rim of Holden Crater. Fractures form in the surface due to structural stresses which can occur due to many different events. Within this image the stress eminates from the formation of the impact crater.
