About this image

Today's VIS image shows an unnamed crater located in Tempe Terra. This region east of Alba Mons is heavily dissected by tectonic graben. These tectonic features can direct impact energy along the fracture, causing the resultant crater to not be round. The visible corner of this crater is perfectly aligned with the graben located nearby.
