Crater Depression

Today's VIS image shows a depression in the floor of an unnamed crater located in Noachis Terra. Other craters in the region (including nearby Rabe Crater) also have depressions or pits located in layered floor materials. These materials were emplaced long after the impact crater was created. Sand dunes are sometimes found in depressions like this one.
