About this image

One of the most interesting features of Maunder Crater is the large trough seen in this image. The floor of Maunder Crater has been filled by a significant amount of material. At some time after the filling event, the large trough developed. The depression is located on the east side of the crater and parallels the crater rim. How and why the trough came to be is unknown.
