About this image

This VIS image crosses most of Hecates Tholus. The circular feature in the bottom half of the image is the summit caldera. This volcano is located on the northern part of the Elysium Volcanic Complex. Hecates Tholus is 5.3 km (3.3 miles) high and 182 km (113 miles) across.
